Why did you join the Jaycees?
    I joined the Jaycees because of the Haunted Hotel project. I also joined because of the part we play in helping out with things in the community. That appealed to me.

How long have you been a Jaycee?
    Three-ish years...I've lost track. LOL!

What has being a Jaycee done for you?
    I've come out of the shell I was in. I'm more able to meet new people and be more comfortable in strange situations. Weekend conventions in Grand Island will do that to you!

What is your favorite Jaycee memory?
   Softball Team! It opened me to something new entirely. I also had loads of fun doing it.

What does your position on the board mean to you?
    To me it means I have the chance to open people up to something new, something that they can use to help change the world as they know it.

Audrey had that "deer in the headlights" look when she showed up early Saturday morning for Super Shooters!

What does it mean to be a member of the Jaycees?

   It means that you are a young individual between the ages of 21 - 40 searching to do something with your life. It means there is something inside you that pushes you to do better, to be better and to give back to your community while building your skills – skills necessary to remain competitive in today's job market.

What does membership require?

    That depends on you! A member of the Jaycees will reap what they sow. Membership, if you wish to pay in full, currently costs $52 a year for a single person, and $90 per year for a couple. 
    This year, the Sidney Jaycees have enacted a new membership recruitment tool that allows a person to join the Sidney Jaycees for FREE! The free member must attend at least 9 meetings and help out with 3 events before taking advantage of national and local benefits, but once the criteria is met, your membership dues are on us!

What does membership do for me?

    The primary benefit of being a Jaycee is the experience of being a Jaycee. The reason we exist is to help our members extend themselves professionally and personally. The activities we do are not just to make us feel like we're nice people. If you want to just be a volunteer and get a thrill from helping someone, join a church or other 'service organization'.
    What we do is different. We initiate projects that we see a need for, to prove to potential employers, the world and to ourselves that we're capable of more. Demonstrate by doing. Learn by trying. You can make mistakes and not get fired. The benefit of the Jaycees is being an active Jaycee.
    No one can help boost your career-ability like the Jaycees! The Jaycees build members confidence, credibiity and skills by hosting and creating community events.

    Membership in the Sidney Jaycees also automatically grants membership to the Nebraska Jaycees organization, the United States Jaycees organization and Jaycees International, of which the United States Jaycees are a founding member.
